Querkus News - April 2002

Hey everyone -

Querkus has been hard at work, even if we haven't been playing out much.

Our next show is comming up quick - It's this coming tuesday (April 9th) at the West End Cultural Centre. It's the year-end social for the U of M Faculty of Fine Arts. We go on around 8:30pm, followed by The Paperbacks and a couple DJs (I don't know who). THere is also a rumor that there will be fake "sumo wrestling" with those big padded costumes. Please come out, you don't have to be a fine arts student to go. Tickets are $8 in advance (from the U of M faculty of fine arts I think) and $10 at the door. This may be the best you have ever heard Querkus, too... the sound quality at the WECC is amazing.

We are booking a tour with the tentative first stop in Saskatoon on May 4th at a place called Amigo's. Other stops may include Regina, Calgary, Edmonton, and Brandon. If you know people in these cities who would be into putting up posters for us in exchange for comps and beer (or g&ts), please give me their contact info. Oh, and thanks to Paul Gagnon for helping us locate venues (and to the band Nathan for helping him locate venues).

We have mailed out CDs to all the college radio stations in Canada (around 30). So far we have reached the #2 position at CHMS Waterloo and the #23 position at Fredricton. The Q to the U....

Our new website is in the process thanks to the daft $kill$ of Jaimz and Jill. The infamous "Querkus Genre Contest" will take place when the site is up to par. T-shirts and CDs will also be available from the site. For now, email me and I will set you up.

Sorry I can't send you more funny telemarketing names this time (They're written down at home and I'm at work) If you really want them, drop me an email and I'll send some just for you.

Thanks everyone.

Karen
