Querkus News - June 2002

Querkus in June, Querkus in June -- Much planning, a small amount of performing. The show at the Orbit room was fun -- thanks again to Casandra Crossing, Sonya and crew, Victoria, Blue T-Shirt, Jaimz for the beautiful video, and Aaron for videotaping the show. Also, thanks to Eve Rice for coming out and reviewing the concert. Since then, Karen has been adapting to her new home (which is just downstairs in the some old house) with Jaimz and Snuffy the Chiwawa. Edgar has been working all the time and trying to fit in time to sleep (unsuccessfully). We still play music and plan gigs ever chance we get. Anyways, here's the details on what's coming up:

Querkus rocks out this Sunday, June 16th at 10:45 am at the Winnipeg Family Kite Festival in Assiniboine park. It's free and thoses guys/girls who get pulled behind kites in little carts will be there! Doesn't that look like fun? Come on down, bring your kite (or make one for 5 bucks) and check it out. Sorry for the short notice.

Querkus is planning on attending a course in electronic music from Precursor Productions in July. Watch out for us after that, the sound from the stage should be mixed to perfection and HUGE. I repeat, watch out (and come to the shows).

Querkus has a few dates confirmed for July - Tuesday July 2nd at the Pyramid as part of Search for RA NRG battle of the bands. Have you ever wanted to see Querkus battle it out with a couple of nu-metal-rap-rock bands? Here's your chance (I don't actually know who's on the bill yet). We have tickets to sell at 4 dollars each. Email me back if you want tickets and we'll set you up. If we win we get to go to Canadian Music Week next year. Sweet. We are also playing on Tuesday, July 23 at 5:00 pm on the Old Market Square Stage during the Fringe Festival. Come out and be entertained. We aheva bunch of other gigs in the works for July. I'll let you know about them as they come up.
