Querkus News - March 2002

Hello once again. The Querkus machine has been out of sight lately, but we are still working very hard (and hopefully smart as well). We are sending discs and press kits away to all the other college & community radio stations in Canada. If you have any connections in that area, please let them know about the disc. We are also planning a short tour of Manitoba and Saskatchewan for the beginning of April with help from Paul Gagnon (listen to his Hear Here show on UMFM Tuesday at 10 am). Hopefully it will include a launch or return party somewhere in Winnipeg. We'll let you know.

Thanks to everyone who came out or helped us with the Bar I on campus show. We learned a lot about pre-show consulting re sound systems, and know what to do different next time we play a gig without a dedicated PA.

The T-shirts are sitting in a box in Edgar's kitchen (they are perfectly safe there, don't worry). Contact us to get one or come see us play. That goes for getting CDs as well.

Next show... tentatively, it is tomorrow (Friday, March 8th) at the University of Winnipeg in celebration of international women's day. We go on tentatively at 10:30 PM. If you want to see us play but don't want to risk going and have it turn out that we didn't play, send an email here and we'll let you know the details. I will know much more tomorrow when Edgar gets back from work (he's working ~80 hours a week, don't know how he does it). Even if we end up being unable to play, we recommend that you go... its a good cause and good fun with brandy zudan, ellen thorn, nicky mehta, rachel loewen, courtney (uofm), and cara luft on the bill. We will let you know about additional Querkus shows as they arise. Right now, mark Saturday, May 4th on your calender. Querkus will be throwing some sort of crazy multimedia party at the Orbit room that day, more details to follow. If you have ideas of who you'd like to see Querkus perform with (music, art, film, dance, mudwrestling, etc), please fire back an email.

Ok, that's all the Querkus for now. And for all those who were interested in the description contest, it's comming, we just need to find someone to rework our website first. If you or someone you know would like to help with it, please let me know.

Thanks

Karen, Querkus
